Here I am…15kg lighter :)

Friday, July 31st, 2009

So I finally had my baby girl…the very special day was April 22 and after only 1 1/2 hours of labour and delivery ( I know, I’m very lucky), my husband and I welcomed another beautiful baby girl into our life. We named her Maya. She weighed whooping 3920 grams at 50cm length. Yes, even third time around, it’s very magical and the overwhelming endorphins just kick in. I find the best tasting food is the toast with butter and jam and a cup of tea or coffee, is the one they serve you after the delivery.Oh boy, I can still remember how good it tasted :) .

I went home the next day as I can’t stand the noise in the hospital, plus I wasn’t alone in the room. Even though there were times I wished I stayed a bit longer, because my 2 year old was very hard to keep away from the baby.
I wasn’t quite the “superwoman” I thought I was going to be, handling everything superbly…actually quite the opposite. It took me some time getting used to being mum of three, but we’re getting there.

Braxton Hicks and baby movements

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I am having more and more Braxton Hicks contractions. I used to have a lot with the two previous pregnancies and find them quite uncomfortable. It feels like they take my breath away for few seconds. I can also feel the baby filling up the space and some of the movements feel a bit painful. Am loving every moment though. For me, feeling the movements is the highlight of the pregnancy. Some women say they never get them. I believe they helped me every time in preparation for labour and delivery. But that’s a topic I’ll touch in my next post. I’d love to hear whether you believe they help prepare your body for labour and delivery.

Pregnancy due date

Monday, February 9th, 2009

My dute is 28/04/09 and I am so hoping that my baby girl will be born on 1st of May. This is a very special date for me, because my beloved mother, who passed way at 35, was born on this day. See, I was convinced this baby was a boy, purely on the symptoms of the pregnancy, having previously been pregnant with a boy and a girl, but as it turned out, every pregnancy is different. Wouldn’t it be very special to have a baby girl be born on the same day as my beautiful Mum? Not a day goes by where I don’t think about her, but having a child born on the same day would be so much more special. I guess we’ll have to be patient and see when baby Maya decides to meet us. I love children. God bless them, what a joy they bring. Every day has its challenges but their hug, kiss or their smile, makes you forget all the naughty things they do just like seeing your child for the first time makes you forget about the labour and delivery pains.

Pregnancy and heat

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

I haven’t experienced pregnancy in summer before, even though this is my third pregnancy. I am now in my 28th week of pregnancy and the Sydney heat is really getting to me. The day starts with some energy but the humidity is absolutely draining me. Of course having two kids to look after, doesn’t help either but you find yourself with no choice. The house we just moved to, which we’re renting, has no AC and I’m wondering how is a pregnant woman supposed to cope in such conditions??? We ended up buying a portable AC but of course it’s only good for one room, so we use it at night in the bedroom. At least something. I really feel for all women who are pregnant at this time of the year.
